Workshop Description

Part One: For Those with Eyes to See and Ears to Hear

We'll begin indoors as we mine the metaphors of the wild, from tree snags to timberline.

We'll delve into our ancient partnership with the dark and its particular relevance to today;

probe the original Muse, Mnemosyne (Memory) and her relationship to familiars.

Seasonal and lunar cycles will anchor our place on the planet, the genesis of creativity.

Part Two: Writer as Witness

We will embark into the mountains for a silent, solo writing expedition, gathering mid-afternoon to share and conclude.

Bring:  your favorite pen and paper;

food and drink, including lunch.

Chair or ground cloth for time in the forest.

Binoculars if you have them.

Wear:  comfortable clothing, including footwear for hiking; layers for temperature change; sunglasses,

and whatever accoutrements you use for personal hikes, i.e. hiking stick.

Our mountain destination will depend upon weather

and the participants' abilities.  We will carpool to our location.
